As Indian School Muscat celebrates its 50th anniversary, it stands at the cusp of a new era. The institution remains committed to its mission of providing high-quality education, fostering a spirit of inquiry and lifelong learning among its students. ISM believes that the Golden Jubilee is not just a celebration of the past; it is a springboard for future —a future filled with promise, progress, and continued success.
Marching through the golden hall of fame, ISM has charted a gala of events to add grandeur and fervor to its celebration. ‘Reliving Moments’, which was held on August 17, 2024 on the school campus, was a unique blend of composite culture, art, collaboration, and mastery. This day was dedicated to parents and children to showcase their innate talents. Both competitive and non-competitive events formed an integral part of this momentous occasion. A team comprising of parents and their wards could participate in any event and present their artistry. The competitive events incorporated folk dance, poetry recitation, painting competition, and singing competition while the non-competitive events included any talent which could be performed in 3 minutes such as mimicry, fashion show, juggling, beat boxing, song, poetry recitation etc.
The dignitaries illuminated the event with their gracious presence and witnessed history in making where parents grooved to the music and sang like the nightingale. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Mitul Asher, Chair, Co-Curricular Subcommittee, Indian School Muscat Management Committee and the Guest of Honour was Dr. Lakshmi Sarkar, Member, Indian School Muscat Management Committee, renowned and esteemed panel of judges, honourable Principal, Mr Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice-Principal, members of the School Management Committee, Vice-Principals of various sections, Asst. Vice-Principals of various sections, HODs of various sections, teachers, grandparents, parents, and students.
‘Reliving Moments’ witnessed an array of talents and awe inspiring performances. Teams in their traditional colourful attire were delightful to watch. It was a much needed respite from mundane routine and for some it might as well have been their eureka moment. Parents were seen grappling with mixed emotions who most probably were reminded about their parents.
The atmosphere was absolutely electrifying as each team performed to the beat on the stage. Each participating team performed with finesse and meticulous precision to rock the show. The audience too joined in to cheer their favourite teams. The bustling venues added to the thrill and happiness all around. The cynosure of the event was the ism@50 goodies which parents and guests purchased as souvenirs.
The event culminated successfully with prize distribution ceremony to all the winners and consolation prizes for participation. It was a day filled with hues of diverse shades and aura which will last a life time and linger in the minds of those who were a part of this historic event. Everybody left the campus with broad smiles on their faces signifying their gratifications to ISM.
